Hi!

I have Win10pro with cmaxv200ex318.EXE and all worked fine.
A few days ago my Homeseer would not find the ocelot anymore. So I tried to have a look onto the ocelot with cmax and found out that there are no SECUs in the "attach to Controller" view anymore.
Surprisingly the programm is still working. Lights running with the ocelot turn off and on.
When I try to load the Programm, it shows no Parameters at all.

What do I have to do to get Access to the Programm again?
Maybe that will solve the Problem that homeseer doesnt find the ocelot.

In C-Max, at the bottom if the screen will read a firmware and application version. What are these versions reporting?

Is the Comms light on the Ocelot flashing?

The Comms LEDs on the ocelot and SECUs are flashing and the simple programm in the ocelot is still working. So if I push the light switch, ocelot recognises it and tells the SECU to turn on the light.
Seems there is no problem between ocelot and SECUs.
I just dont have access to the ocelot anymore. So I am not able to change the programm of the ocelot and homeseer lost connection.

As soon as Im at home again I will have a look at the versions of Cmax.

Let me know what it reports, but it sounds like you are are getting any RS232 comms between the Ocelot and Computer.

Try another Serial port (if you are using a USB to Serial converter, try another), then another serial cable, and lastly replace the serial port chip on the Ocelot.

You can get a replacement chip for the Ocelot (called a MAX202 chip) from automationtec.net (send an e-mail to sales.atec@automationtec.net).

Yes, that means there is no RS232 communications between the PC and Ocelot.

Hi!

Originally I used an onboard serial port with a serial cable and have now bought a serial to usb converter.
After installing the drivers and changing the com port in cmax there is still no connection. Do I have to do anything else to make the converter work?
If not I will order a MAX202 Chip and try this out.

Go to the Device Manager in your computer and make sure the com port is configured and there is no exclamation Mark or question mark above the port icon (if there is, the drivers are not properly installed for the USB to Serial converter).

If the converter is configured and drivers are properly installed, the Max202 chip is the next thing to try.

The converter works. So I have changed the MAX202 chip and got an answer from Ocelot in cmax.
It said: "Warning! Your Controller does not have the latest exec code. Load now?"

The SECUs were listed and I was able to see the
Firmware: V8.31/59
and
Application: V3.01

After loading the exec Code the Application changed to: V3.19

I will now reenter my Program.

I would be happy if you are right.
Loading the program didnt Show any I/Os.
So I tried to reenter it manualy but I can only select the module but no I/O.

In the newest version of C-Max, you will need to set up the system map.

In C-Max, click Project, then System Map.

Right click over each module and select the module you have at that address. Then load the project and the correct modules will be listed.

Hi!

Thank you!
Now my program is back on the ocelot.
But lights still wont turn on or off.
I can turn them on or off manually in "Module Utility" - "Set/Clear Relay" an the I/Os in "Controller Access" show the correct Status.
There are 4 SECU16s and 1 SECU16I connected.
The SECUs seem to work and show the correct status in "Controller Access". Only the line with the SECU16I (where all my Light-Swiches are connected) shows no reaction when I push a button.
I want to add that before replacing the MAX202-Chip, lights worked fine. So there should be no Problem with the SECU16I!?!? I disconnected the power supply before replacing the MAX202. Might the changing of the chip have damaged the SECU16I ?

Replacing the MAX 202 chip will not keep the SECU16I from working, as all it does is allow comms to the computer.

If the input on the SECU16I does not change when the button is pressed, we need to check to make sure the SECU16I is receiving the inputs.

In C-Max, click module utilities, retrieve module parameters. Parameter 10 is the parameter for first input, parameter 11 is for the second input and so on. See that the parameter reads for the input when the button is not pressed. Then exit the Retrieve Parameter window.

Next, hold the button down and retrieve the parameters again (you will have to wait for the screen to refresh) and see if the input value changes.

If the input value changes when the button is not pressed to when it is pressed, then the input to the SECU16I is working. At that point you need to check parameters 2 and 3 on the SECU16I to verify of the value of that input falls out of the window created by the values stored in parameters 2 and 3; then falls between the values in parameters 2 and 3 when the button is pressed. If not, change the values of parameters 2 and 3 accordingly.

If the value for the parameter you are testing does not change on the SECU16I when the button is pressed, then either the button is not working or the input chip on the SECU16I is not working. Check and make sure the button is working. If it is, then the input chip on the SECU16I is bad. This would have nothing to do with changing the max 202 chip, it would just be coincidence.

Ok...we are getting nearer :-)

Parameter 17 changes between 34 and 140.
Parameter 2 is 85 and Parameter 3 is 170.
How can I edit Parameter 2?
Would 30 be a good value?

;-)

You have to put in the password at the bottom of the Retrieve Modules Parameter. The password is the value stored in parameter 6 for module 1. Then you double click the parameter you want to change and change it.

Wait, that should work. 34 is less than 85, outside the window, and 140 is between 85 and 170, so the input should be changing from Off to On when then button is pressed.

Parameter 2 of Module 1 (the SECU16I) is now 30 and Parameter 3 still 170.
Parameter 17 changes between 34 and 170.
I/O#7 of Module 1 in the Controller Access window shows no reaction.
