Getting back to building an application that will allow me to use a long ignored and unused Leopard. Was able to install latest (I think) C-Max on a win7 box, but most of my machines have been upgraded to Win10. I can use the Win7 box for my C-Max work, but wondered if C-Max will ever be modified for Win10.

I ran and used C-Max on my Windows 10 64-Bit computer and it worked fine.

Kevin,
Good to know. However, when I download the current (?) version of C-Max, unzip the compressed file pkg to a new sub directory, and run Setup, I get "This App cant run on your PC...". I tried this on two different Win10 PCs, so its apparently not peculiar to one box. Is it possible that you had C-Max installed on your PC before upgrading to Win10, so that the initial C-Max was installed in a Win7 (for example) environment. Maybe the actual SETUP program is not WIN10 compatible, rather than C-Max itself.

We downloaded and installed C-Max on two Windows 10, 64 bit computers here that did not have C-Max installed already, right off the web site like you are, and all installed fine with no hitches. One was a desk top, and one a notebook. The desktop was a computer I just got in that I just set up from scratch. I'll install it on my wife's computer tonight and see if it installs there. So far, can't fine any issues.

Steve,

I just re-read your post. Let's make sure you are downloading the most recent version. Click:

Kevin, that was the problem. That version/link worked fine. Can't recall where I got the earlier version, but it was downloaded recently from a link off one of a "recent" post, maybe one of Guy's. Regardless, thanks for the support!

Hi everyone.

It is running on Win 10 for me, However, there seem to be a couple issues:

Sunrise and sunset seem to be miscalculated, and when you Connect to controller there is no longer a sunrise and sunset time shown. Only the words Label.

Before Connecting, in Cmax Settings, i set my Longitude and Latitude to -74 long and 45 lat ( just west of Montreal, QC) and -5h for time zone... And whether or not I check off Use Daylight time, it seems not to make much difference.

Lights are bacically coming on over an hour too soon.

Have I forgot something since i have not programmed c-max in over a year and a half? Still, there was always the words Sunrise and Sunset, and their times

I just checked on my Windows 10 (64-Bit) computer and all is displaying fine and the values are correct.

Is C-Max actually connecting to the Ocelot? I asked that because when I pulled up C-Max on my windows 10 computer at home not connected to the Ocelot, it showed label. When I connected it to the Ocelot, the waiting for data and the Sunrise and Sunset appeared correctly.

Hi Kevin. Thanks for checking in.

YES, it is Connected to Ocelot and I can Manually Transmit X-10 to turn on/off devices.

I can ask for the Ocelot TIME and it responds, ETC.

and of course I Transmitted the Code to the Ocelot and watched the Progress bar from 0 to 100% (Slower than it was in Win 7).

but No Sunrise and Sunset, Only Label 10 and 11 on the bottom Right (I believe it was numbers 10 and 11 - I'm not at home at the moment).

All my sunset and sunrise Related Events are occurring At Least one hour Too SOON!

In C-Max, click Controller Utility, Get Controller Clock. The time will appear in the white field. Is the time correct?

Absolutely. I checked it several times. In fact, as soon as I connect to Ocelot I always First do a "Get Controller Clock" test to see that it reads and displays, and that it is Correct.

another Long time Issue with C-Max - When I launch the app, going into the C-Max settings it always reverts to a Different Time zone and Location (I believe it is that of ADI's location.

It NEVER saves and Keeps my location - Therefore I must Always manually reenter my parameters Before "connecting" to the Ocelot.

WHAT can fix this??? (It was like this in Win 7, and now in Win 10)...

Just tested it here and it saved it fine. Even after rebooting and relaunching C-Max, the new settings I typed in for Latitude, Longitude and Time Zone came up.

Is this the same computer you were using and upgraded from 7 to 10?

It's looking like some kind of permissions issue that it is not saving the information.

No, actually. 2 different PCs and both would NOT save those settings.

This PC with Win 10 is only a year old. It came with Win 8, but I never migrated to it until after updating to Win 10.

the much older PC with Win 7 had Vista before, and it too would not keep settings...

It wouldn't hurt in case something went wrong in the install. Make sure you back up any program files, IR files and such.

I am looking into this, but I can't reproduce the problem.

I have backed my project and ir files, Run the Uninstall program.\

Downloaded C-Max, to be sure it is the current version(it was the same). Installed everything.

Same Results: the Long. and Lat, once changed, are NOT saved, nor is the timezone. So upon restarting C-max, the default values are present.

Once connected to Ocelot only the words Label 10 and 11 show on bottom right - NO Sunrise or sunset.

What is going on?

The Latitude, Longitude and Time Zone are stored in the system registry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432node\ADI\CPUXA\Time.

If you are willing to, try manually editing these fields to put in the correct Longitude, Latitude and Timezone and see if this works.

Make sure you back up your registry before doing this. This is clearly not normal. I'd like to see what the result of this is.

I was looking at another Windows 10 computer, and the Latitude, Longitude and Time Zone are stored in:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ADI\CPUXA

So you may have to do a search. If you do, search for CPUXA. It will be easier to find.
