I have Comms led that remains lit as soon as I power up the Ocelot, and I can not connect it to c-max. I try onether Ocelot that I have just bought but it has the same problem. I tryed to connect them with other pc but I had the same result. What's wrong with them?

Is the Ocelot just by itself or with expansion modules? If you have expansion modules then disconnect them from the Ocelot and see if the comms LED still stays on solid. If it doesn't do that anymore, then it would seem like the problem would be a bad comms chip in one of the modules. If you have more then one module, it might be possible to swap the comms chip between them to find out which one is bad. These are easily replaced with a generic part 75176 bus transceiver.

The led still stays solid with Ocelot by itself and even without serial cable plugged in. Both Ocelot has the same problem.

So the comms LED stays lit solid with nothing connected to the adnet bus (Com A and B terminals)?

The comms LED is not related to the serial port for the PC.

This means the Ocelot is not processing at all. What power supply are you using to power the unit?

Nothing is connected to the Ocelot. Just Power Supply

Does the Active LED blink at all? If so, how many times?

Hmm, intriguing that two Ocelots would do this exact same thing.

If you've already tried another power supply, I cannot really think of anything else. Were both Ocelots known working units and both failed at the same time? Do you have a way of measuring the voltage across the PWR terminals?

Yes, the power is correct. I have just mesured it. The Ocelot are both new. I have used one just for two weeks and when it stopped to work I replaced it with the other, but the result is the same.

Maybe I found the problem. Recently I added 4 new Secu 16 wich is daisy chain and I found now that I made a mistake with wiering: I put 12Vdc on the com A and B port of the Ocelot instead bus as the colur of cables are the same. Maybe the Ocelots are now broken. Can them be repaired? There is something that I can do?

They should be able to be repaired, providing no traces were damaged, which should not be the case with only 12 volts. At the minimum, the communications chips are blown in the Ocelot. Just to see if they are causing the Ocelot not to operate, right behind the two jumpers next to the X10 modular jack is a chip called a 75176 chip. Pull that chip out (with power removed) then provide power. Throw that chip away as it is most definitely gone. You want to see if the Active light flashes 3 or 4 times. If it does, you will just need to replace that communications chip.

If the active light still does not flash, then either the 29040 chip is damaged or something deeper is wrong with it. You can order the 29040 chip from http://www.automationtec.net and see if that brings the Ocelot back to life (it is a socked chip easily replaced) or you can send the Ocelot into us for repair. If is not certain that the 29040 chip will fix the problem, but it might.

I have pulled the communications chips out but Active LED doesn't flash. I noticed that my Oceltos use 75156. Have I replace with the same or is better use 75156? I have just ordered 29040. I will test them as soon as will arrive.

Use the 75176. Let me know what happens when you get the chips please.

I am assuming this is IR. Will it not learn them at all, recognize the IR once learned or will not control the device once learned?
