I recently updated a program in C-Max, Saved it, then uploaded it to the Ocelot. Everything is working well.

But on the weekend I wanted to make a change and in C-Max, I could NOT find the latest program I wrote. I searched my entire hard drive and found it, but only one of the 3 Files it saves. The 2 others are simply not there (there are normally 3 files of the SAME Name, but different file extensions).

HOW can I recover from this? What happened... This happened 2 months ago, but my changes were so minor "that time" that I just rewrote the program...

This last time I made substantial changes.

Send me a private message that gives me an email address where I can send you back an attached executable (ie: that won't get refused by an antivirus program) and I'll send you my C-Max program recovery tool.

Hi.

C-Max is simply not Saving the .PRJ AND .TCH files anymore????? I rebuilt everything last fall, saved everything once I loaded it into the Oclot...

Now I just went to Open file as I need to make some changes and again, NO .PRJ File (no .TCH either)??? ONLY .PGM file.

WHAT IS HAPPENING???

YES - for sure. and everything seems fine... Then, the nwext tie I go to open a "Project", there are no projects... So I go into the folder from windows Explorer and ONLY see the PGM file...

Can I do anything with only the PGM file??? This began with newly savew projects saved a little over a year ago...

Also of note, for a few years now EVERYTHING in the Comms Setup reverts to factory defaults except for the correctly selected Com Port... SO, before accessing Ocelot I "Must" reenter all Longitude, Latitude, ant Time fields to mine, otherwise the incorrect factory defaults get entered into Ocelot.

Right Now, I really Need to Access and Modify some Ocelot program settings, times, etc... -CL

Well the most important file is indeed the .pgm file. Having the project file is a plus in the sense that you can now give names to each resource like timers, variables, inputs, etc.

What happens if you try to create a whole new, blank project? Try creating it in another directory too as a test.

Hi.

I Created a new directory, opened C-Max and did a new project.

It Saved ALL 3 files: PGM, PRJ, TCH. As it is supposed to, right.

I went to see all my backups, Etc, and from October 2011 (the last succesful SAVING of files) all more recent Saves (I always Rename an existing project when I open it and make changes, so it is seen as the most up to date file set) ONLY have the PGM.

CAN I USE the PGM somehow???

Guy Stated the following:

The .pgm is what you would also get if you used the program recovery tool. It looks like you will need to re-create the .prj file manually by creating a new project, importing your existing .pgm file, and then saving the whole project again. Like I said, the .prj file is mainly to define the names you want to give to the various items. You also need to define your modules in order for C-Max to corrdtly show you the module options when programming.

So I did the following:

1. Opened C-Max.
2. Clicked Project and Created New Project and Saved it in a Different Folder to keep an eye on it.
3.Clicked File, Open Program and found my PGM File. It loaded...

Now to rebuild and assure everything works...
