Hello

I have an old Leopard 1 Touchscreen/Controller that locks up after several days of operation. I am using the Homeseer Home Automation Software with it and I was suspecting Homeseer or my computer. I shut down Homeseer altogether and just had the Leopard 1 powered on and sure enough the Leopard 1 locked up with the backlight turned on all the time and no touchscreen response, etc. Didn't have this problem when I first set all this up. It seems that just recently it is locking up every couple of days. Very rarely will it last for about 6 days but that is the longest it has ever stayed running recently and maybe only once at that. Any suggestions or ideas on how to resolve this issue with the Leopard 1 Touchscreen/Controller and any possible repairs that might be required would be much appreciated. Thanks much in advance.

What I can suggest, at least initially, would be to power it down and then open it up. Carefully lift up each socketed chip slightly (don't unplug it though) and then seat it back firmly in its socket. Don't do this with the large square chip however, which is the main cpu. The socket is too easily damaged, and would not gain from this procedure anyways. Pulling up and then reseating the small cpu board is also advised. Also carefully wiggle out sightly the flat cable coming from the touch screen and then reseat it too. Power it back up and see if this helped.

If that does not do it, try reloading the Executive from C-Max. Then maybe a new power supply (9-12V, DC or AC, 1Amp).

Thanks much Kevin. I will give this a try if reseating everything does not help. I may try replacing the power supply first thing and give it a try.
