Jeez, all these years I've been mis-reading the temp Bobcat spec. The probe is good to -20 degrees F BUT the Bobcat itself IS ONLY GOOD down to 32 degrees F. It's an outdoor Bobcat (protected from moisture) - no wonder it quits reading properly here in our Michigan winters!
Now that I've realized what my problem is I'm looking for a solution. The Bobcat monitors my hot tub temp so I have a ready source of heat from the PVC hot tub pipes. I'm thinking about just mounting the Bobcat on one of the pipes and creating some sort of enclosure over it for insulation and moisture protection. Maybe an upside down milk jug stuffed with insulation.
Just wondering if anyone has a more creative solution.
Thanks, Chris
