I have taken the X10 modules and my system uses and put their names in the system map. It used to be that as I wrote a program the name instead of the module number would appear in the pull downs and in the program. Suddenly when I started writing a new program even though the names show up when I look at the system map I only see the module means in the pull downs and that is what's entered in the program. This is the first program I've written from scratch with the new version of cMax, is that the problem? If not any ideas what is the problem?

There is a system map file for each "project". If you started writing a new program then a new, blank system map is created along with it. If you want to keep your first program's system map, then copy the first program's .prj file over the .prj of your new program and it will now show you the names and modules you had created the first time.

That's what I did. I copied the .prj file into the new directory were I'm creating a new program. I've done it before without a problem. This time if I call up the system map it shows all the correct program names but as I write the program the names are not in the pull downs nor do they appear in the program? It's the first program I've tried writing since loading the new version of CMax software, can that be the problem in some way?

I don't believe the format of the .prj file has ever changed since the system map was introduced in C-Max 2.00a

I'm not sure of what you mean by the names appearing correctly when viewing the systemn map, but not in the pulldowns when creating a program. Do you have a specific example of that (with say timers or variables)?

I can't figure out how to insert a screen shot here but I'll do my best to explain it. When I open the system map in my old programs or the new ones (by clicking "system map" I see the labels I have changed from "X-10 House L / Unit 1" to "Den Sofa Lamp" or whatever. When I work on the old programs and go to insert a line in use the pulldowns to select the X-10 Unit to activate I see these names, when I do the same thing in a new program all I see is the "X-10 House L / Unit 1". Whatever I see in the pull down is inserted in the program in both cases but it's hard to follow the program when all the lines just show the module number.

I hope this clarifies my problem.

I finally figured out the problem, or at least how to solve it. Somehow the *.prj had become corrupted. It looked OK when I opened it from within CMax but it wouldn't transfer its information into the program. I deleted it and created a new one and everything seems OK.
