My older computer recently crashed had to buy a new one. The new one has a 64 bit operating system and I can't get CMax software to install. Is it compatible? Do I need to do anything special to get it to install?

Thanks!

I installed it on my Vista 64 bit computer at home with no problem. What problem are you having?

The program downloads and extracts OK but when I try to run setup I get an error message every time. It starts out like this:

Error 1406 could not write value VersionMinor to key \Products\....

I'm running the system as an administrator, so I don't think it's a privilege problem.

I'm running Vista 64 bit also.

When you get that error, click ignore and proceed. It should still install.

I tried that and the program did install but it wouldn't open any of my old projects or programs, nor will it save anything new I wrote.

Help!! I am having the same problem. I upgraded to a new computer and re-installed Cmax. Received the 1406 error and ignored. Now when I try to open my project file I get the messages "File Open Error" and then "File Error".

Any thoughts?? THANKS!!

My understanding is that Vista and Windows 7 (64 bit)will not accept 16 bit software. I tried loading C-Max in Vista Ultra 64 and was notified that the software is 16-bit. Now What?

I finally got it working after trying to install it several times and telling it to ignore the errors. I'm running it on a Toshiba laptop that is using Vista Home Premium x64. I am not using compatibility mode at all. So it does work, it just takes some playing around.
