I am not a Leopard user (yet) but am considering using one for a lighting control project.

Questions.
1. What happens to the system clock if the power is interupted?
2. If the clock is reset on power interuption, can code be written to set the clock from the touchscreen without connecting to a PC? Alternatively, if the system clock gets SEVERELY messed up, can the same code be used to set the clock?
3. Does the sunrise/sunset functionality really work?
4. How does the device deal with new DST?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Dwayne

1 - An internal battery keeps the clock running.

2 - No, you cannot set the time from the screen. It must be done from a PC with the C-Max controller utilities.

3 - Yes, sure does!

4 - The current executive version (3.18) supports the new DST dates (in force as of 2007).

Thanks for the fast reply, Guy.

Couple last questions...

5. What kind of battery keeps the clock running?
6. What's the battery life?
7. What indication is available that the battery is dead?

Thx again,
D

Oops - one LAST question.

8. How accurate is the RTC? Let's say in a year, how far out of whack will it get?

Thx again, D

5 - The battery is a CR2032 type (common lithuim cell that looks like a coin).

6 - Looks like its 10 years or more. The one in my 9 year old Ocelot is still working fine.

7 - There is no notification built into the system, but you might want to change it as a matter of course after 10 years just in case. Its in a batteryholder, no unsoldering needed.

8 - I have never seen mine drift off at all. I would say as good as a typical digital watch.

btw: I have a Yamaha DX-7 synthesizer which has exactly the same battery as the Ocelot to hold its memory. The synth was made in 1984 and I replaced the battery that had died just last week...it lasted 25 years!
