I guess I don't visit here often enough. I see that something that drives me crazy has been fixed (maybe?): I use less than 200 IR codes, and yet when I download a LIR file it takes forever because it is downloading all 1024. I see there is a new version of IR_Max, and it looks like I should be able to change the size of the saved file. However, there seems to be nothing I can do to make it other than 1024. If I change it to 256 and tab out of the field, it is changed back to 1024. If I change it to 256 and then go directly to the Save menu, it again changes back to 1024.

Are you guys just teasing me, or is this really supposed to work?

(Go ahead and embarrass me. I'm sure it's simple and I am just an idiot...)

It will produce a smaller file then you can then load into the controller (just look at the file size, a full file is 262K). But saving the IR codes from the controller to a file will always save all 1024 locations.

But how do I get the field to take something other than 1024? Everything I've tried results in (1) the field changes back to 1024 before I can do anything, and (2) the file is still as big as it started.

Sorry if I'm being dense. It must be something obvious.

You're right, it looks like there is a problem with the program resetting the box back to 1024 as soon as you click on anything else! I wonder how that wasn't picked up earlier? Hmmm, look like ADI will need to take another look at the program to fix this bug.

As a workaround, I just put together a really simple VB program to truncate a LIR file to the number of records you want. If you want it, just email me (my address is in my profile) from an email address where I can send you back an attached zipped executable.

It appears the new IR_Max program will truncate the file as long as the size is at least 100 entries. Below that it changes back to 1024.

I am unable to save less than 1024 records also and I am trying to save more than 100. Maybe ADI can take another look at it after all?
