I noticed that cmax is reporting incorrect sunrise/sunset time for my location. This is throwing off lots of routines that use this as a trigger.

1. I verified (and reentered) the correct lat/long (41.72, 87.99) and timezone (-6).
2. I reloaded the executive and my .prg (firmware v8.23/15, App v3.18).

Cmax is reporting sunrise at 6:09am and sunset at 5:55pm. The actual times should be (for today) 7:07am and 6:52pm respectively.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Michael

Go into "Comms Setup" and verify that the DST (Daylight Savings Time) checkbox is indeed checked. Then attach to the controller and set the controller's date and time.

DST was already checked (but just in case I unchecked and rechecked).

1. I attached to the controller and set the time. The controller acknowledged successfully.

No change in sunrise/sunset times.

2. I exited CMAX, restarted, and attached to the controller. No change.

Thanks,

Michael

I cleared the long/lat. and retyped it. With no change.

I tried to set the RTC several times in a row and it successfully did. With no change.

I powered-cycled the Ocelot with no change.

Any suggestions??

For some reason the code editor was at v2.00e3 not e5.

I have been able to install e5 and the sunrise/sunset display is now correct.

Just to confirm, what is the current firmware v8.23/15 or /55?

Thanks,

Michael

Which controller do you have: Ocelot, Leopard 1, or Leopard 2?

I have the Ocelot and it hasn't switched to DST.

I have had several Code Editors including V2.00e and e3. Isn't there an e5 somewhere? I can't find it on the site.

My controller shows:

Firmware V8.23/55
Application V3.08

I'm sure I simply just don't have the right software in place.

You have to load the lastest application into the Ocelot for it to use the new daylight savings time. You can download them from the following link:

http://www.appdig.com/adicon_new/download.htm

You will need to install it, then go to Controller Utilities, Reload Controller Executive.

The sunrise/sunset times now show correctly for the first time, so we'll assume that solved the problem.

Thanks

Same problem as Deane.
Download changed Application from V3.08 to V3.18.
After reloading Exec and Application, Sunrise/Sunset times are still 1 hour behind.

What am I doing wrong?

Did you then "Set controller clock to PC clock" in the controller utilities? Also make sure that the "Use Daylight Savings Time" box is checked in the Comms Setup screen.

Yes, controller clock was set from PC and "Use DST" is checked.
Time zone is also correct.

And it's still not correct? Could you post the values you have for the timezone and longitude/latitude?

With those values, I get sunrise/sunset values of 7:27 AM and 7:43 PM. That doesn't look right to me, those times should be earlier then that. What city are you in?

Near Austin Texas.

The 7 o'clock vaues you get are correct! However, the controller shows 6:27 and 6:43.

Ok, use the controller utilities and retrieve the controller parameters. If parameter 5 is set to 1, then it will check for DST changeover. If parameter 4 is set to 1, then DST is in force. Are you getting 1 for both parameters? If parameter 4 is not set to 1, try setting it manually and see if that fixes it.

Found Parm 4=0 and 5=1. Changed P4 to 1 and reloaded Exec.
Rechecked parms, both OK.
Sent Program file to Controler. Did not fix Problem.
Checked Parms again. When Parms list first displays P4=1. Then it changes back to 0 by itself.
Tried another Program File with same results.
What could cause a Program file to change Parm 4 to 0?

Parameter 4 is getting set to 0 because it somehow thinks that DST is not yet in force.

Is your C-Max version 2.00e5? This is displayed at the top of the screen. If you are running 2.00e3 by any chance, then you should update it to e5:

I do have e3 instaed of e5.

If I download from your link, I get CMAXV200ex318.EXE.
When run, I get a PKSF window that says it will extract to C:\ProgFiles\ADI\ADICON2500.

When I click EXTRACT, I get a second PKSFX window that says "SETUP" already exists. No matter what option I choose, nothing happens and C-MAX stays at e3.
