I have created a program in VB6, that sends commands to the Ocelot.

It has been working great, but I just tried the same program on a Vista PC. When I try to run the program, I get an error MSCOMM32.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered, a file is missing or invalid.

I tried to copy mscomm32.ocx into windows\system and windows\system32, but no luck.

Would appreciate any suggestions!

Try this: open a command line window and try this command:

regsvr32 "C:\Windows\System32\mscomm32.ocx"

If you get a message saying that it registered correctly, try your VB program again.

I tried that, and I also tried to uninstall /u and then reinstall, but it still does not work.

It would seem there is some "rights" issue, but it is a laptop, and I am listed as the supervisor, so I can not figure out why it won't register.

Guy,

I tried everything over and over, then I thought, what if the mscomm32.ocx file is bad?

Deleted the file off the Vista PC, copied on the file off my XP machine I knew was working, and that did the trick!
