Hello everybody.

I am almost new to everything IR (At least when I compared myself to the level you guys discuss). Tinkered with IR a little, I have an OCELOT and I would like to know where a guy like me should start?
In the beginning I would like to accomplish programming the OCELOT with direct codes for a sony TV so I am able to jump from Input 4 to tuner input channel 65, then with another press to go back to input 4.
Thank you!

Have you tried learning some IR codes with your Ocelot and then sending them to your TV? This would at least tell you that the hardware is all working. After you get that working, then you could look at doing macros.

A nice feature of the Sony TVs is that they have discrete codes for power on/off and input selection. In fact I posted IR code data for a Sony TV here:

To use those codes, you will need to learn how to use the IR-Max utility in order to add the codes posted in the link above to your learned codes. Here is a link to the IR-Max program and docs. You will also be able to learn more about IR in general in those docs:

The hardware is working. I managed to make some macros and they work perfect. i did encounter a video switch that didnt like the fact that the codes were going without any pause and tried to introduce a timer to hold the transmission of the codes, but the timer didnt work. I need to work on that more. I will go thru the cocs of teh IR-Max utility. Thanks!!!

Try this type of code for the timer:

IF (triggering event)
THEN Transmit IR #1 //send first code
THEN Timer #1 = 1 //start timer

IF Timer #1 becomes > 3 //two seconds later
THEN Transmit IR #2 //send second code

IF Timer #1 becomes > 5 //another two seconds later
THEN Transmit IR #3 //send third code
THEN Timer #1 = 0 //and stop timer
