I have a simple Ocelot program that controls X10 using an IR remote. All it does is ... If receive IR XX then send X10...

My problem is that for some reason each IR code has to be sent twice (you have to press the remote button twice for it to work) The first time nothing happens - only the IR LED on the Ocelot flashes showing that the commnad is received), only on the second press the coorect X10 command is issued.

Has anyone seen that and is there a way around it?

This might be a remote using a code format that has a toggle bit (RC5 code). Try this (for example): Learn the code in location #10 by pressing the remote button once only, then learn the same button in location #11 on the next press of the same remote button.

Now go into the C-Max controller utilities and use the "Debug Timers and Variables" utility to watch the variables. Scroll down the list to that you can view variable #60. This is the "IR Variable" and will show you the last code that was received and recognized. Press the button on the remote once and see if you get 10 or 11 in variable #60. Then release the button and press it again, and see if you now get the alternate number from the first time. If this works and you get the alternate number everytime you press the button, then it alternates between the two codes. If this is the case then you could program around it by doing:

IF Receive IR #10
OR Receive IR #11
THEN...

I see this is an old post, but I have a similer problem, I use a third party program to control my IR though SECU-16IR with serial commends. The problem I have is that I to have to send the same commend 3 time before the ir is sent. This works ok for sending on and off commends. I search but could not find an post some time back that said 2 proms needed to be replaced 1 for the comm port and I think one was in the SECU-16IR. Any help.
Thanks
Bob M.
