Frequently in the Active Topics list, I see threads listed with a most recent post date/time of today (whatever day it is), but when I click to that thread, the last post is from years ago.

Today, I see What considerations should I make with..., and the last post in that thread is from 2005/01/10, and it shows only one page so I'm not missing further pages. Yesterday, it was some other thread.

Anyone else notice these?

I don't know if there is a relation but once in a while I delete a spam post or thread. I deleted one yesterday and another one today. But there can also be weeks between such deletions too. Another thing that did occur is when the forum database was migrated to a new software a while back (to improve the search functionality) and many threads were amputated of some posts, mostly at the beginning of the thread. I still come across these once in a while.

Yes, there also can be weeks between seeing these old threads as well. Is no one else seeing them? It sounds like there could be a correlation between these and the spam deletions. I wonder if the deletions cause a pointer to be out. If so, are there perhaps some threads which are current, that don't show up in the list?

I see them too sometimes, and from time to time I see them before Guy does, and it's allmost allways spam-messages that messes up the threads.

It might depend on how people visit the site. I just scroll down the list of forums and look for any yellow bulbs to see if there are new posts in any forums. When I see one, I open that forum in a new window. I never use the "Active Topics" list myself.

Dowser, thanks for confirming.

From what Guy said, it looks like it's the spam deletions which are messing up the Active Topics list. Perhaps any deletion would do so--that's something that could be tested.

I see them as well from time to time. I also view the list the same as Guy by scrolling down and looking for the light bulbs. It sometimes takes a week or so to have them stop showing up when they do occur.

I've had that happen to me a few rare times too. They must use X10...

Yeah, another thing with the Active Topic's list is that it from time to time looses which topics I allready have read.

It's not like the spam-handling where the just one topic gets up on top, but all my previously read topics are marked as new, so I must read them again to get the same status as before. (When it happens, it happens to all my topics at once)

But on the other hand, it never looses my login-information, so I'm allways logged in as Dowser, regardless if it's lost the information about read messages.

So it feels rather much like this must be the first forum built with X10...

Yes that would explain it alright.
