I have written a plugin to monitor the Ocelot/Leopard CPUXA serial port and have set the autosend parameters 15, 16, 17 to "1".

While monitoring the serial output I am getting a lot of stray output every couple of minutes:

Serial: ADI Ocelot : Simple Receive: Data FD 00 00
Serial: ADI Ocelot : Simple Receive: Data FE 06 01
Serial: ADI Ocelot : Simple Receive: Data FE 06 13
Serial: ADI Ocelot : Simple Receive: Data FE 0C 16
Serial: ADI Ocelot : Simple Receive: Data FD 00 00
Serial: ADI Ocelot : Simple Receive: Data FD 00 00
Serial: ADI Ocelot : Simple Receive: Data FD 00 00
Serial: ADI Ocelot : Simple Receive: Data FD 00 00
Serial: ADI Ocelot : Simple Receive: Data FD 00 00
Serial: ADI Ocelot : Simple Receive: Data FD 00 00
Serial: ADI Ocelot : Simple Receive: Data FD 00 00

Any idea what this is? Based on the Protocol, it does not look familiar!

The normal X10 and IR commands are received fine, formatted properly.

I'm betting that the FD's are caused by stray IR light hitting the IR receiver. Have you tried sheilding it to see if this reduces the occurrances?

The FE's look like received X10. For example FE 06 01 is a G/1 (those infamous G/1's?) while FE 06 13 is G/OFF. The FE 0C 16 would be a M/All Lights OFF

Hi
I've written a Number of cpuxa serial interfaces.
The Problem you are having with "Bogus" IR#0 receive is something I've added into the interfaces to 'Ignore Bogus IR' & Never record any Real IR into location 0.
The Interesting thing is, that It doesn't happen on both Ocelots I've tried My programs On. Covering up the IR Receiver made No Difference to the problem.
I Seem to recall that there was a mod (arround the ir receiver) on one of the ocelots I had tried , but Can't recall if it was the one that did the bogus ir or not.
Perhaps ADI could shine some light on this ?

Barry, what version of Ocelots do you have? Do they both have the bi-color IR-X10 LED? If not, which one does receive stray IR? I have two Ocelots myself: an older single-color LED unit with a PIC version 14 that doesn't seem to have stray IR input, and a newer bi-color LED unit that does seem to get a lot of stray IR, even if I cover up the IR receiver.
