The new forum software is VERy strict with its repeated search policy.

If I click "active topics" it's counted as a search. If I then click one of the active topics, read it, and then hit either the "back" browser button or click "active topics" again, I often get a "You cannot make another search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes."

I know it's desireable as a forum administrator to limit the number of searches a user makes in a set amount of time (usually one search every 20 or 30 seconds), but I think the number for the forummay be set too high or something else is wrong with the configuration. Pressing the back button to return to a search results page should not re-execute the search, but only reload the old search and not count as a search.

I know I can work around this by opening posts from a search in a new window, leaving the search results intact, but it should work right from the get go.

Ok, I just reduced the search time limit to a very low value (it was 60 seconds). Give it another try. On this type of forum, people might only need to do 2 or 3 searches before finding what they're looking for so the load should be quite light.

still seems a touchy ...
I.E.
I logged In , Hit Active Topics , Selected One , Had a Look, Then Hit The 'Browser Back Btn' & Up came the "You cannot make another search at this time...."

The forum was moved to a different server just this week and it looks like the minimum search interval had got set back to a higher default value. I just adjusted it again.
