I know there's been some discussion on this in the past and I wondered if anyone has been successful in building a high power ir emitter.
It isn't convenient for me to hardwire the output of my Leopard to my ir connecting blocks on the other side of the room. I don't see why we can't send ir at least as strong as a cheap ir remote control.
I'll give it a go Guy. I want the Leopard to sit on a table next to my recliner in the living room, and I want to use it for limited IR which needs your blaster to reach AV area.
Is there any place to buy a pre-made Hi-power IR Emitter? I don't do well with building electronics. Do I need just the emitter/blaster and the Ocelot to control multiple devices with one button push in HomeSeer 2.2/Maestro or do I need the IR expander as well? For example I want to touch one button on my touch-screen monitor and dim the lights, turn on a/v equipment to watch a DVD.
I do not want to put an emitter on the front of my TV or any other equipemnt for tha matter.
Thanks for your help. New to IR contolling.
HomeSeer 2.2, Z-wave, Z-troller, and leagacy X-10.

Can the USB-UIRT be converted for use as an IR Blaster for the Ocelot? I bought it first, then found out the HomeSeer Plug-in support is not that great. Keep in mind I'm a klutz when it comes to doing aything with soldering.

Where can I buy an IR emitter that works with the Ocelot and controls the A/V equipment from across the room? I ordered what I thought would work from SmartHome, but it's just an emiitter that works from close to the equipment rather than being stuck to the front of the equipment.
