I'm wondering if HomeSeer can comunicate with several Ocelots at the same time from diferent serial ports. I'm planning to install a complete control network with ADI modules and controllers in my future house. I think this network is going to be too complex for being controlled by just one master. I'd like to control lights, temperature/heating/cooling, blinds and windows, water resources (including wastewater re-use), etc. I'm thinking in installing two ADI networks separately, so I could integrate both networks by a PC. That's the reason of my question.

Thanks,

Daniel.

That question depends on the capabilities of Homeseer to run more then one instance of a plugin (or one each of the two available plugins for the Ocelot/Leopard). I'm not a Homeseer user myself so I cannot answer that one, but you might try the Homeseer forum and ask about this. I've also heard about an upcoming Homeseer 2.0 that might have additionnal capabilities for doing this.

As Guy suggests, you should get an accurate answer from the HomeSeer board, but if you're not already a HomeSeer user, you might find when you get that software that you change your plans for the Ocelots.

If HomeSeer handles things such as lights, then you might find that one Ocelot is enough (maybe I shouldn't say that on this board  )

It can be difficult, trying to decide which functions are done where, but for anything mission-critical (alarm etc.) then an Ocelot will prove much more reliable than something PC-based. The PC can then handle the non-critical stuff, with an Ocelot watchdog re-booting the PC when it glitches.
