the 24L type chips are eeprom that usually contain not much more then the parameters. The actual firmware (like ver.3) is normally burning into the PIC chip itself.

"good" (version 3) and "bad" (non addressable) t-bobcats have the same program code, only some of "bad" bobcats have other fuses, for example, not Xtall, but internal resistor. It is very strange- you can't by no means exept with special programmer change the fuses on pic.... Or it is a bad banch of pic chips?
It makes the problem.
All the parts of circurt look the same on good and bad bobcats.
Will try to read/write 24L.
Can it help ?
Can "bad" 24L data prevent autoaddressing?

I tried to read 24L data, and got
00 00 00 00 00 00 FF FF....FF FF
I read with pin 8 (5V) disconnected from circut, all other pins were connected. May be it is noncorrect and I have to disconnect all the pins of chip? In any case, 24LC02B is relatively chip, can I use new chip or I have to install preprogrammed only?
I ask the questions becouse it is very difficult to disassemble such a tiny chips from circut.

I don't know if you really could read the 24LC02 chip while it is still in the circuit. I also don't know if it being bad could prevent autoaddressing from working, although this is not impossible.
